Raymond Lucas

October 16, 1922-April 14, 2001

I'Raymond was born on October 16, 1922. He left school a semester early in order to enlist in the U.S. Marines. He was part of the Devil Dogs in the Pacific Theather. Upon returning to Lorain, he married Irene Morris on December 31, 1946. They raised a family of five boys in their home on West 21th Street.

Ray was employed by T.J. Hume and Gene's Flooring. He moved on to be a building inspector for the City of Lorain retiring in 1989.

Irene was the store manager of ESCO.

Fans of Admiral King Football could count on Ray bringing the victory bell to every game.

Ray's family enjoyed weekends at the trailer on the Vermilion River or cook outs in the cabana.

In their retirement Ray and Irene attended athletic events for all the grandkids and traveled to Marine Reunions. Ray participated in a veterans' reunion in Guam where he had served.
